It's time again for JILA's annual brat cookout! But this time, it will be back at JILA, outside under the A-tower! The instrument shop staff will be grilling up brats, and there will be a variety of lawn games to play. All JILAns are welcome!
Come celebrate Amelia Earhart's birthday a few days early with birthday cake and a paper airplane flying contest! We'll meet in the h-bar for cake and to launch paper airplanes off the h-bar patio. Judges will select winners in different categories, and paper will be provided!

The Exploring Social Identities workshop is an hour long workshop designed for participants to recognize their own intersecting identities and those of others, while learning to be empathetic and open-minded to the experiences of others. This workshop will include in-depth conversations as well as tasty snacks. Hope to see you all there!
Physics Frontiers Centers (PFCs)
The Physics Frontiers Centers (PFC) program supports university-based centers and institutes where the collective efforts of a larger group of individuals can enable transformational advances in the most promising research areas. The program is designed to foster major breakthroughs at the intellectual frontiers of physics by providing needed resources such as combinations of talents, skills, disciplines, and/or specialized infrastructure, not usually available to individual investigators or small groups, in an environment in which the collective efforts of the larger group can be shown to be seminal to promoting significant progress in the science and the education of students. PFCs also include creative, substantive activities aimed at enhancing education, broadening participation of traditionally underrepresented groups, and outreach to the scientific community and general public.
